"Scouting for Food" Gathers Tons of Food!
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Each year, KTVL News10 and Albertson's team up with the Boy Scouts to help feed the hungry in Southern Oregon and Northern California. Since 1983, the Crater Lake Council has held a food drive for the hungry. The idea was adopted by National Boy Scouts and given the name Scouting for Food "Good Turn." It has proven to be a successful campaign both nationally and locally. Food collected from Jackson, Josephine, Klamath, and Siskiyou counties totaled more than 72,000 lbs. in past years! As the media sponsor, KTVL-TV has provided promotional support to Scouting for Food for the last decade. This coverage, coupled with Albertson's commitment to provide bags has ensured the food drive's success. The Boy Scouts will deliver a flyer to your doorstep the second Saturday in November and then will return to pick up the bag of your donated food on the third Saturday in November.
