Larks: Chocolate Chip Banana Bread Recipe



¼ cup butter, softened (or ¼ cup unsweetened applesauce and 1 Tbsp butter)

1 cup sugar or brown sugar

2 eggs

1 ½ cups mashed bananas (about 3 large bananas)

1/3 cup milk

1 2/3 cups AP flour

1 tsp baking soda

½ tsp salt

¼ tsp baking powder

1 cup dark chocolate chips


Preheat oven to 350F. In a medium bowl, cream together butter and sugar. Beat in eggs one at a time. Add mashed bananas and milk. Sift together dry ingredients. Beat dry ingredients into wet mixture. Fold in chocolate chips. Spray an 8”x5” loaf pan with cooking spray. Pour batter into the pan. Sprinkle top with sugar, if desired. Bake for 1 hour 15 minutes, or until a knife comes out with only trace amounts of crumbs on it. Let cool completely before removing from pan. This batter also makes great muffins.
