The Jackson County Sheriff's Office is seeking tips on a theft of firearms.

It says it occurred in the 200 block of Neil Creek Road, a rural neighborhood a few miles southeast of Ashland.

Last Friday night, the owner of a 5th wheel trailer returned to find someone had forced entry and firearms, magazines, and ammunition were stolen from inside the trailer.

"We're always concerned when firearms are stolen. They are often used to trade for drugs, for other stolen items, and very often used in the commission of a crime," said Sgt. Julie Denney.

The firearms stolen include a Remington 870 shotgun, a Bushmaster AR-15 rifle in a case, and a Beretta pistol.

A Benjamin Marauder air rifle with a scope was also stolen.

The total value of the items is more than $3,000.

If you have any information regarding this crime, please call, or text Crime Stoppers of Southern Oregon at 1-800-850-0580 and refer to case number KTVL 02-27-18.

Depending on the case and the information is given, Crime Stoppers will pay a reward up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and filing of charges. Callers can remain anonymous. The reward is sponsored by Rogue Credit Union.
