CRIME STOPPERS: Holiday Inn Express heist

GRANTS PASS, Ore. -- Grants Pass police are on the hunt for someone who robbed a Holiday Inn Express hotel.

The unidentified person is described as an adult black male wearing a black-hooded sweat shirt, a grey beanie and a grey scarf covering his face.

Officers said the man entered the Holiday Inn Express on Agness Avenue Friday night at 11:30.

He threatened employees with a handgun and demanded cash.

Then he shut the employees into an office while he left with the stolen cash.

"This is one of those incidents we obviously take seriously. The reported use of a firearm in a crime like this where two employees get shut into one of the back rooms and then money is taken. Those are pretty serious crimes that are happening here in Grants Pass," Lieutenant Dennis Ward, said.

Lieutenant Ward said they believe the suspect left on foot, but he possibly made his way to a vehicle.

The case number is 01-10-17.
