A benefit for Orick: Family is hosting fundraiser to help with lung transplant costs

A 13-year old boy named Orick, with a life threatening illness and his family, are putting together a benefit yard sale and carnival.

It's to help get Orick to Texas to see doctors about a lung transplant.

Orick was diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension three years ago. It's a type of high blood pressure that affects the arteries in your lungs and the right side of your heart.

According to his mom Stephanie Floyd, there are three treatments and if all those fail, the last resort is a lung and a possible heart transplant.

The family is asking for help .

"We're asking for donations for the yard sale and any kind of carnival games anybody can think of," said Stephanie Floyd. "We're hoping to get a jump house donated for the carnival."

The benefit will be June 9th and 10th at Orick's middle school, White Mountain Middle School in White City.
