Britt Festival asks for donations instead of refunds

Mother Nature put a stop to a Britt Arts and Music Festival concert on Tuesday.

Organizers had to cancel a performance due to a power outage.

Since then, hundreds of people have been calling the Britt Arts and Music Festival office asking for refunds.

On social media, Britt Arts and Music Festival is asking people to donate the ticket money instead of demanding a refund.

Britt Arts and Music Festival had to pay all the performers. Britt Arts and Music Festival was not insured for the cancellation, so all the money it is paying back is going directly out of the organization's funds.

"Event insurance is very expensive. We have gone 55 years without it, and this is the first occasion that we might have needed it, which means we're going to take a big loss on this natural disaster," said Donna Briggs of Britt Arts and Music Festival.

The Britt Arts and Music Festival says, it will refund tickets to Tuesday's concert to all customers who demand it.
