Bystanders help detain Klamath Falls man after he attempts to assault an officer
ROSEBURG, Ore. —
On Monday, Douglas County Sheriff's Office deputies were called to the Loves Travel Stop after a man refused to leave the area after being asked to do so.
The caller said the male had been aggressive with employees and tried to hit them. DCSO deputies responded and once on scene, Jack Arvin Barker, 36, tried to assault one of the deputies.
Barker resisted being taken into custody. One deputy attempted to use a TASER device but was unsuccessful.
With the help of people at the scene, Barker was taken into custody after struggling with law enforcement.
After a brief struggle, the male was taken into custody with the assistance of bystanders.
He was lodged in the Douglas County Jail on charges of:
- Criminal Trespass II
- Resisting Arrest
- Assault on a Public Safety Officer
- Disorderly Conduct II
