Crash on I-5 North closes both lanes for hours
JACKSON COUNTY, Ore. —
According to Oregon State Patrol, the crash occurred around 11:00 Sunday morning,
OSP believes a speeding, fully loaded semi-truck carrying cleaning supplies lost control and flipped, closing both lanes on I-5 North near Siskiyou Summit. Cleaning supplies exploded during the crash. The truck driver says his breaks were smoking before the the vehicle lost control.
Around 1:00 pm Sunday, Oregon Department Of Transportation was able to clear one lane on I-5 North. ODOT says they expect to have truck cleared and both lanes open by late afternoon Sunday. Traffic is still backed up for four miles.
The truck driver was transported by Mercy flights and is being taken rogue regioncy medical... suffered injuries, conditions are not known at this time.
