DA ID's officer involved in shooting at the White City VA
MEDFORD, Ore. —
The Jackson County District Attorney's Office has released the name of the officer involved in the shooting that the Veterans Affairs Southern Oregon Rehabilitation Center in White City last month.
Previously, VA officer Marvin Seifer name was withheld due to a threating phone call that allegedly threatened VA Police due to the incident. A further investigation the VA Police determined the threat was isolated and did not pose a credible threat to their officers.
A Grand Jury had determined that the OfficerSeifer's actions were justified under Oregon Law earlier this month.
Officer Seifer has served as a VA Police Officer for 17 years and previously served in the U.S. Coast Guard.
