Ashland, Ore. - Southern Oregon University students rejoiced after receiving their diplomas in Raider Stadium on Saturday.

For President Linda Schott, she had the pleasure of her first commencement and graduation ceremony in Ashland.

She says it's different than the other schools she has taught at and presided over.

"My last university where I was president, we only had about 200 to 250 graduates, so this was about 1000 more students than that, but that just meant there was that much more enthusiasm and excitement in the stadium," Schott said.

Schott emphasized that she loved all the energy rising from the stadium. She joked the day was perfect, except for the heat on the turf football field.
