Driver arrested for DUII after fatal crash
GRANTS PASS, Ore. - After a driver caused a crash and fled the scene, the driver was arrested for DUII.
On March 18, at around 8:22 p.m., authorities responded to a report of a single-vehicle car crash on I-5.
Early investigation shows that a Volkswagen Jetta was rear-ended by a Suburu Legacy, but the Legacy fled the scene.
The Jetta flipped onto its top and collided with a guardrail as a result. Both the passenger and the driver, Ashland Parsley, 18, and Kim Parsley, 62,, sustained serious injuries and were taken to Rogue Regional Medical Center. Kim Parsley later died from his injuries.
About 20 minutes after the crash, OSP stopped a vehicle for a lighting violation and troopers realized he'd been involved in the crash.
The driver was identified as Lindsey Johnson, 28, and was arrested for DUII.
