Drowning at Grants Pass YMCA is under investigation
Grants Pass Department of Public Safety is investigating a a drowning.
It happened Sunday at 4:45 PM at the YMCA.
YMCA staff and the lifeguards on duty performed CPS on the 16-year old male.
CEO, Kevin Clark says, they did all they can do save the teens life.
"Our heart goes out to that family this is something that none of us ever want to experience and we're heart broken so again our prayers and hearts are with that family," Clark said.
GPDPS Fire and Rescue, and AMR personnel responded and began life saving measures.
The teen was taken to Three Rivers Community Hospital where the medical staff there continued to attempt to save his life. He was later pronounced dead.
GPDPS says the drowning doesn't believe it to be criminal in nature, and asks anyone who witnessed the incident to call the department at (541) 450-6200.
