MEDFORD -- Jackson County Expo staff are starting preparations at the Jackson County Fair.

About 85,000 people are expected throughout the week. The Walk on the Wildside wildlife exhibit is back, and Brad's World of Reptiles returns this week.

Rides are currently being assembled, and 35 different rides will be available. This includes free locations outside of the heat.

"It's an area for you to be able to go and have time with the kiddos. Play games, read stories, there's going to be some puppet shows happening in there. It's just a covered tent area where you can relax and it's completely free for you to come and enjoy," Helen Funk said.

The fair is from Wednesday through Sunday, and closes Sunday at 7. Those who buy tickets get lawn seats to all performances at the Expo, but if you're going to comedian Gabriel Iglesias on Saturday, staff recommend getting a seat early.
