Jackson County Fair starts off strong

Today marks the first day of the Jackson County Fair.

Southern Oregon's largest community event will last until July 16th. Fair-goers can enjoy plenty of food, rides and activities.

Hundreds of people showed up to the fair today, mostly during the later hours.

You can catch performances by Daya, Eli Young Band, Gabriel Iglesias and more at this year's events.

The ground entertainment is changed out every two years, so visitors have something new to expect.

"We always wanna change it up. So they run for two to three years and then we bring in different shows. So this year we got a walking dinosaur that's a lot of fun, live reptile exhibits..." Jim Teece of the Fair board says.

Tickets are $12 for adults. Children under 12 and seniors get in for half the price or free depending on age.
