Medford Fire opens new station four
MEDFORD -- Medford Fire opened the new station four for service Friday.
The 12,000 square foot building is three times the size of the previous facility. It cost $4.5 million from the public safety fund, and can house two fire companies. Medford's fire chief said this is needed as call volume grows.
"Our demand for service and call volumes is going up every year. Looking at the past 20 years we've had an 130 percent increase in call volume for our area," Chief Brian Fish said.
Station four also expanded the training grounds, and the chief expects response times to improve with more trainings at the central location.
