Multi-vehicle crash sends two to the hospital in critical condition
Kerby, ORE. —
A multi-vehicle crash on Highway 199 sent two people to the hospital in critical condition on Thursday afternoon.
One patient was transported via Mercy flight to a local hospital due to the extent of their injuries. The other was transported by ground by ambulance to Asante Three Rivers Hospital in Grants Pass.
At 3:28 p.m., Illinois Valley Fire District, AMR, Rural Metro Fire, Oregon Department of Transportation and Oregon State Police responded to a four-vehicle crash on Highway 199 in the southbound lanes at Reeves Creek Road, 2 miles north of Kerby.
Multiple patients were injured, and one person trapped in their vehicle. EMS crews extricated the patient from the vehicle.
The highway was closed for an extended amount of time.
The cause of the accident is being investigated by OSP.
