No Shave November helps kick start a suicide awareness campaign
CENTRAL POINT, Ore. —
The Jackson County Sheriff's office raised $3,000 for No Shave November.
On Thurday, JCSO presented a check for the money to United Way of Jackson County to help them kick start a campaign to raise awareness for suicide prevention.
"We need about $30,000 to get it started. We're hoping to build awareness of not just teen suicide but also any suicide from any spectrum of age," said Brande Cowden, a United Way community volunteer.
The money was raised entirely by staff.
Mustaches got $35, goatees $50 and beards raised $75.
The Jackson County Commissioners would like to be included in the City of Medford’s exclusionary zones.
