OIT Reduces their tuition increase
Klamath Falls, Ore.- Oregon Institute of Technology (OIT) is lowering their tuition increase this year from 8 percent to 5 percent.
This is because of the passing of Senate bill 5524, which allocated $737 million dollars in the states funds for higher education.
OIT previously promised students they would lower tuition by one percent for every additional $20 million dollars they receive from the state.
"I think that providing higher education to Oregon students is such a great benefit to the state as a whole, because students that are educated in Oregon mostly stay in Oregon." Said Ashley Van Essen, Public Information Representative for OIT.
The average full time student at OIT will now save an additional 225 dollars annually in tuition costs.
