Yreka, Calif.; Ashland, Ore. - Yreka Police Department officers conducted a routine traffic stop after a motorcyclist drove through a red light.

The motorcyclist continued driving at high speeds - reaching 80 miles per hour - along I-5 northbound. Yreka Police and Siskiyou County Sheriff's Department pursued after the driver across the California-Oregon border.

Once into Oregon, law enforcement requested assistance from Oregon State Police. OSP, instead of taking over the chase, provided assistance by clearing traffic for California officers.

Once near Ashland on I-5, the motorcyclist pulled over and OSP took him into custody. The driver is now in Jackson County Jail.
