Residents say 'thank you' to firefighters

Brookings residents are showing firefighters that they are "Chetco Strong" as they go off to put out the Chetco Bar Fire.

"Without them, we would probably be burning. It's scary, it's very scary, living on pins and needles all this time," says Cheryl Bashor, who had to evacuate, but is now back in her home.

Sunday evening, residents were on the side of the road with signs saying thank you for fire crews.

They did the same thing this morning for the morning crew as they were on their way to the front lines.

This morning, there were about 60 people there. It is unknown how many people came Sunday evening, but by the time the News 10 crew left, people were still coming to show their thanks.
