Study says Rogue Valley College helps the local economy
Rogue Valley, Ore —
Rogue valley community college is doing more than just providing an education.
A study was done analyzing the school's economic impact on the community it serves.
The study shows the college is helping the local economy.
Wednesday, public figures like the mayor of Central Point and Jackson County Commissioners along with others, spoke with the school president about the impact. They also took a tour of the Table Rock Campus.
The report says the school has helped alumni make more than 100 million dollars in the workforce between 2015- 2016.
The money alumni make then gets put into the economy as they are able to make purchases.
The same goes with payroll, the school paid employees a little more than 40 million dollars, and they are able to make purchases, helping boost the economy.
