Trial for former Klamath County Sheriff Frank Skrah begins
KLAMATH FALLS. Ore. - The trial for former Klamath County Sheriff Frank Skrah began today. He's accused of assault and official misconduct.
A pool of 60 jurors were summoned for trial for the case and prosecutors chose six jurors and two alternates.
Prosecutors have been asking questions to the jurors all day to get the right fit for this case, which has been going on for two years.
Former Sheriff Frank Skrah of Klamath County faces nine misdemeanor charges stemming from complaints that he roughed up suspects and failed to notify owners that their mailboxes were damaged by an on-duty deputy.
Investigators say these incidents took place during his term, which ended in January.
Skrah was elected Klamath County Sheriff in 2012.
Tomorrow the court will be moving onto opening statements.
