Triple digit heat may cause cellphone damage

The triple digit heat may affect your cell phones.

Repair shops say if you charge your phone in a hot car, it can ruin your battery.

A repair technician, Akasha Jermain says, if it's hot enough it can cause your phone to shut off permanently.

"If it gets hot enough or the damage is bad enough it can cause the battery to puff up or swell and then when it gets to that point it can even pop or rupture and that's where you see the exploding batteries," Jermain said.

He says to keep your air conditioner on while charging your phone and to not leave your phone in a hot car.
