Workers from Southern Oregon University project to receive settlement
ASHLAND, Ore.-- The Bureau of Labor and Industries is directing $924,000 to 116 employees who they say worked on public works projects at Southern Oregon University.
In December, a wage settlement of $2.5 million was signed and SOU made an initial payment of nearly $1.5 million.
The Bureau of Labor says the new payment has been mailed to the workers who signed individual release claims.
Those who didn't will be sent nearly $85,000 once the agency receives their releases.
44 contractors and subcontractors could owe $2,569,387 to workers on the project to build residence halls and a dining hall completed in 2013, according to the press release.
