MADGE: Community feedback is the key to stop gang crime

TALENT, Ore. -- Jackson County Gang Task Force is holding its last community forum to address gang related problems in county.
Law enforcement officials are expressing the importance of community feedback.
"The most important thing is getting that communication engagement. Some have had really good turnouts, some not as much and people should voice their opinions on where the communication is and what the gang issues are," said Lt. Brett Johnson, a member of the Medford Area Drug and Gang Enforcement Team.
These forums have been scheduled across Jackson County to explore the perceptions community members and parents have about local gang activities.
The primary reason for gathering information is to determine how community members and parents view gang activity and how they believe gangs affect their community.
Phoenix and Talent are the last two cities in the county to have the forum.
The forum will take place Dec. 12 at the Talent Library, 101 Home St., starting at 5:30 p.m.
