TALENT, Ore. -- Another sign of the economic boom coming to Talent: Avalon Bar & Grill is re-opening soon. This adds to Brammo, new homes, improved parks and one big move from the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Talent.
Avalon, past patrons and musicians say is local favorite, is coming back after being closed for a year. Neighboring businesses, like Edward Jones, said Avalon's re-opening is good news for them by bringing in more traffic.
Renovations are underway, and the new owner said Avalon will continue its tradition of being a live venue for musicians. The place will also have local wines and beers on tap, with food made from ingredients at the nearby farmer's market.
Stefano Cipollone is the new owner. He said he chose to re-open Avalon after seven years of searching building spaces in the Rogue Valley.
"Talent's a beautiful place. It's a beautiful town. I love the fact that you can see the Pascal Winery from our deck. The town here is ready to explode, I feel like, and I want to be a part of it." Cipollone said.
Cipollone is remodeling the venue, which includes replacing the carpet with wood floors and changing the counters in the bar area. He said if the remodel and licensing goes as planned Avalon will open during the first week of April.
