NCAA report outlines Ducks violations

EUGENE, Ore. - The Oregon Ducks won't lose their chance to play in a bowl, according to the NCAA.

The football association published its sanctions against the team today.

The Ducks will be on probation for the next three years, as well as losing one scholarship in each of the next two seasons.

Former Duck coach Chip Kelly is also facing an 18-month show-cause order.

"We're in transition. All the offenders are gone, all of the athletes are gone," said an Oregon Duck fan who learned of the sanctions while on campus. "I think its pretty fair."

The sanctions are a result of an NCAA investigation that says Kelly failed to monitor the football programs use of recruiting services.

Students are looking forward to moving on.

"When you have a regime of transition with the NCAA infractions committee, you definitely need some luck and we got some," said senior Jordan Freeman.
