ASHLAND, Ore.-- Southern Oregon University has announced that they will offer tuition discounts of approximately 35 percent, along with other savings, to graduates from Jackson and Josephine county high schools who are eligible for regular admission to the college as part of their Jackson/Josephine Pledge Program.

The three-year program will require additional work for the 50 students admitted into the program in Fall 2016, and will include individual advising, coaching and mentoring.

Students graduating in spring 2016 from qualifying schools are encouraged to apply by February 15 to be considered for the program.

Participating degrees include Business Administration, Computer Science, Criminology and Criminal Justice, Elementary Education, Emerging Media and Digital Arts, and Health, Physical Education and Leadership.

Funding for the program was made available due to Oregon Legislature increasing the funding for public higher education for 2015-2017.
