Phoenix Pirates practice during preseason fall camp before the 2017 football season gets underway.

The Phoenix Pirates are using the theme 'make it count' at fall camp as they prepare for the 2017 football season.

Phoenix is making it count with two-a-days during week one of the camp and by using their time wisely while on the field.

"Our mantra this year is to 'make it count'," Pirates Head Coach Jered Gail said. "Make every rep count, make it today, don't do something tomorrow, that you can get done today."

Jered Gail enters his second season as head coach of the Pirates and now he'll have two sons in the program.

Javan Gail will play his senior year with the Pirates. Gail previously played at North Medford High School where he split time at quarterback.

"I want a great experience for our players and that includes my sons," Jered Gail said. "That includes all of them, they've worked really hard, they deserve to be successful." and our mantra this year is make it count make every rep count make today don't do something that tomorrow that you can get done today."

The Pirates open their season in Phoenix at Jack Woodward Stadium against Crook County on September 1 at 7 p.m.
