Since moving to Oregon from his native town of Burlington, Connecticut, Brian Schnee has learned to love the West Coast. Schnee earned a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from Keene State College in Keene, NH. While in college, Brian was always around the microphone; as the ‘Voice of the Owls’ or on a local ESPN radio station.
After graduation, Brian secured a full-time job at ESPN New Hampshire working as on-air host. Schnee worked his way into the PM drive fill-in spot and even broadcast collegiate summer baseball and UMass-Lowell NCAA D1 athletics.
Deciding that television was the route to take, Schnee took a news reporter position in Springfield, Massachusetts at Western Mass News, working alongside some veteran producers, reporters and anchors, learning the craft. While covering breaking news in the early morning hours, Brian still managed to continue his passion as a freelance sports play-by-play broadcaster across the Northeast. Schnee was the play-by-play voice for the National Lacrosse League’s New England Black Wolves, hosted the Providence College March Madness Selection Show, served as the play-by-play voice for Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Connecticut High School state championships and more.
Schnee thinks his family, friends, mentors and viewers are the main reason why he loves his job. His most valuable takeaways professionally are his college professors and internship coordinators.
Having spent two years in the Rogue Valley working in the sports scene, Schnee looks forward to each day sharing news & sports with News10 viewers both on the anchor desk, on social media and online!
Brian loves to go exploring, hiking, wine/coffee tasting, taking spontaneous trips, attending concerts, watching the New York Giants each Sunday and meeting new people.
Brian always welcomes news & sports story ideas/tips by emailing: email@example.com. He’s a fan of anyone who shoots cell phone horizontally.
WATCH Brian Schnee each night on News10 at 5, 6 and 11 PM!
