MEDFORD, Ore.-- It is that time of year to help News10 "Stuff The Truck."

News10 teamed up with Ray's Food Place and The Rogue to help feed the hungry in our region.

As of Wednesday, more than 1,000 bags of food have been donated, but News10's goal is 8,000.

Each bag of food is delivered to a local food pantry, like the Salvation Army.

Lieutenant Ray Morris with the organization said fundraisers like this help feed families on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Without the donations, the Salvation Army would not be able to feed the 179 families on Thanksgiving.

"The beautiful thing about it is there's several people in Jackson County that want to help, and this is an opportunity for them to help," Lt. Morris said.

The donations also help the Salvation Army prepare Christmas meals for families. Last year, there was about 830 meals.
