Week 6: Showing up for your community

Stuff the Truck

Since the Ray's “Stuff the Truck” Food Drive launched, community members have donated approximately 5,696 bags with a total value of $113,900. Customers in the Southern Oregon region accounted for 1,860 bags or 31% of the total.

The effort offers customers the opportunity to purchase $25 worth of food for $20. All food is donated to a local food bank with some 38 food banks participating in Oregon and California. Each store tracks how many bags customers buy.

The “Stuff the Truck” event at all stores finished its sixth week strong, with donations already at nearly 80 percent of what was donated throughout the season last year. The event launched on Oct. 31. Ray’s stores in the Southern Oregon region are in these communities: Bandon, Central Point, Eagle Point, Gold Beach, Gold Hill, Jacksonville, Merlin, Phoenix, Port Orford, Rogue River, Selma and Talent, with a Shop Smart location in Cave Junction.

An online portal makes it even simpler for customers to donate.
