MEDFORD, Ore. -- Southern Oregon is getting in the holiday spirit. Ashland is celebrating 25 years of its Festival of Light with more than a million lights covering buildings in downtown.

"The businesses all get involved, they're gearing up the holiday season, restaurants are having special promos, there's a lot that goes on," Kelsey Frantz with the Ashland Chamber said about the festival. On the weekends, you can also find craft fairs, artisan markets and carolers.

In Jacksonville, the annual tradition is the town's Victorian Christmas. It's not only to get people in the holiday spirit, but bring shoppers to the historic town.

"We do want people to come and explore the stores here. The shopping experience in Jacksonville is a good, old-fashioned shopping experience. You're talking to the owners of the store who've selected the merchandise in their store, they know it backwards and forwards and can provide you guidance on gifts for your friends and family," Tim Balfour says about downtown.

On the weekends in Jacksonville, Father Christmas will be around from 11-4. There are also trolly rides, carolers and hot cider.

In Grants Pass on Fridays and Saturdays throughout December, Santa can be found in his workshop at 5th and G street.
