Road Trippin' : Easy Exploring
MEDFORD, Ore. —
A fairly new, local business is making the business of road tripping somewhere a lot easier. SoOregon Express wants to help people explore Southern Oregon in a unique way.
“Most people I talk to that live in the valley have never seen Crater Lake National Park or the Oregon National Caves,” owner Jenna Aluyon-Martin says. That was part of the reason she and her husband decided to launch the business.
“My husband and I have been traveling Southern Oregon for years and this is what we do on our off time. So this is really just taking people to what we've done for ourselves,” Aluyon-Martin says.
From wine country to covered bridges, Crater Lake and scenic waterfalls, Aluyon-Martin says there is something for everyone.
“We go to Toketee Falls which is the most photographed falls in the Pacific Northwest and we also hit Watson Falls with a 300-foot tall waterfall. We hit Whitehorse Falls which is a great place to take photographs,” she says.
The whole idea, customers show up and take in the scenery.
“We take care of the transportation, the entry fees, the parking fees, tour fees and the tasting fees and we also have a gourmet lunch and snacks and water,” Aluyon-Martin says.
SoOregon Express also just added another means of transportation. A trip to wine country for couples only in a 1968 Camaro. Aluyon-Martin says the entire business is a way she and her husband can share their love of the region with visitors and long-time residents.
“When we travel, this is how we do it so we wanted to bring it back to our home.”
