CRIME STOPPERS: Medford Del-Taco robbed

Erik Karlson

The Del Taco in Medford on E. Barnett Road was robbed Tuesday morning.

Medford Police are looking for the suspect, 52-year-old, Erik Karlson.

They say Karlson demanded food from employees, but when his request was declined, he armed himself with a fire extinguisher and threatened two workers.

Lt. Kerry Curtis says Karlson began to demand money and access to the safe.

He was able to grab an undisclosed amount of money and fled the scene.

"He was wearing a very distinguishable white and black beanie cap, he was wearing red winter type gloves, so those things should stand out," said Lt. Curtis.

He says Karlson fled the scene westbound on Barnett road on a silver cruiser-style bicycle.

Police say he was released from the Jackson County Jail shortly after 2:00 a.m. Tuesday morning.

If you have any information on his whereabouts, please call, or text Crime Stoppers of Southern Oregon at 1-800-850-0580 and refer to case number KTVL 01-30-18.

Depending on the case and the information is given, Crime Stoppers will pay a reward up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and filing of charges. Callers can remain anonymous. The reward is sponsored by Rogue Credit Union.
