Police are searching for a suspect involved in a robbery at Group Eyecare in Medford.

The break-in happened just before 3 a.m. Sunday morning.

Police said the suspect first smashed the back door at the business. Once inside, they took about 30 pairs of sunglasses. The value of the glasses is estimated at $4,500.

Police believe the suspect could try to sell the eye wear, or trade them for narcotics.

"If someone in the community obviously gets approached with one of those deals that's too good to be true in regards to a brand new pair of sunglasses, and maybe this person has multiple pairs, that's something obviously to be suspicious of," said Lt. Justin Ivens of the Medford Police Department.

Aside from the theft, the suspect also caused about $500 worth of damage to the business's back door.

So far, police do not believe this crime is connected to other burglaries.
