Man attacked with a hatchet during a domestic violence incident
David Kent, a fifty-nine year-old white male with brown hair and green eyes, weighing approximately one hundred and seventy-five pounds and standing at five feet six inches tall, is suspect of domestic violence related charges.
Kent was allegedly involved in a family fight at a private residence.
The initial fight had ended when Kent attacked a family member with a hatchet, leaving him wounded in the torso.
Medford Police was called to the scene and the victim was rushed to the hospital, where he was treated and ultimately dismissed from hospital care.
He is expected to make a full recovery but David Kent is still on the run.
"We suspect he might have fled the area because he does not have a lot of ties here and the ties that he has here are all family ties and he has really kind of broken that so we are not sure where he could possibly go he does not have a lot of resources he does not have significant income or anything like that," said Lt. Mike Budreau with the Medford Police Department.
Mostly a transient, Kent heavily relies on his family in the Rogue Valley to offer him assistance and a place to rest, but he has cut ties to his family after the domestic violence incident.
