Shy's Cafe and Lounge Burglarized
Shady Cove, Ore. —
An unusual crime took place in one of Shady Coves' oldest businesses, early Saturday morning of December 8, 2018.
Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a call in Shady Coves’ Shy’s Cafe and Lounge. Deputies immediately noticed signs of a forced entry into the establishment from pry marks on the door frame.
Shy's Cafe and Lounge staff also reported a list of stolen items. Among the stolen items listed were multiple security safes and an undisclosed amount of cash.
Sergeant Julie Denney of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office noted the lack of burglaries in Shady Cove and is asking for anyone with information of the burglary to come forward.
“We haven’t had a lot of burglaries reported in Shady Cove. In this case a door was pried open after normal business hours and a theft occurred after that, so we are definitely looking at any trends that might pop up or any other information,” Sergeant Denney said.
Jackson County Sheriff’s deputies are also investigating whether it was a single burglar or if the crime at hand involved multiple accomplices.
Anyone with information can call or text Crime Stoppers of Southern Oregon at 1-800-850-0580 and refer to case number KTVL 12-18-18.
Depending on the case and the information is given, Crime Stoppers will pay a reward up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and filing of charges. Callers can remain anonymous. The reward is sponsored by Rogue Credit Union.
