2019 Pear Blossom festival takes over Downtown Medford
In celebration of the 66th Annual Pear Blossom Parade in Downtown Medford, this year's theme was “Farm Built In The Rogue Valley.”
The parade marched at 11 A.M. Saturday morning, but the festivities spanned over two days from Friday to Saturday.
News 10 was a part of this year’s parade. Here is a video of the entire march shown below.
After the parade, the community continued their celebration at the Pear Blossom Street Fair.
From food, art to community organizations, street fair coordinator Toni McMillan said there were 160 different vendors at this year's event.
During the two-day event, McMillan said there are up to 20,000 people who visit the fair each year.
12-year-old De Angelo Morgan said the Pear Blossom Festival is one of the biggest community events of the year.
"i think it's awesome," Morgan said. "It's a better way to get the community together... it just makes me happy to see everyone else come together and have fun."
McMillan said organizers worth together with Medford Police and Medford Fire-Rescue for large crowd and traffic control in order to ensure safety for everyone.
There was also live music, including a performance from the Southern Oregon University Marching Band, for people to enjoy throughout the event.
