Medford, Ore. - Wednesday afternoon, 2Hawk Winery plans to unveil a new red wine blend named 911 to celebrate and honor first responders around the area.

In an effort to support a new fund for first responders, 50% of money from the wine will be donated to local first responder organizations that have applied to receive the money. 2Hawk co-owner Ross Allen hopes to continue growing the fund for years to come.

"We're starting it off this year with 56 cases," Allen said. "That's going to provide about $10,000 into the kiddie in order to dole out to those who apply and we're looking to grow that every year."

Allen grew up in agriculture, but also was part of law enforcement for 17 years in different capacities. The wine, while supporting the fund, has been an idea of Allen and his wife since the beginning of the year and will also help honor National First Responders Day according to Allen.

Anybody can attend the release party taking place Wednesday afternoon from 4:00 to 7:00 at 2Hawk's tasting room.
