UPDATE: The fire started around 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday off of Redwood Highway and Airport Drive.

ODF had placed a Level 2 or "Be set" evacuation notice for Airport Drive as a precaution due to the cars near the fire that could potentially explode and flying parts. The evacuation has been lifted.

The Illinois Valley Fire District says, fire was caused by a down power line.

Highway 199 is now open.

A grass fire at a junkyard in Cave Junction is causing delays on Highway 199.

Multiple agencies, Illinois Valley Fire, Rural Metro, and Oregon Department of Forestry responded to the 10 acre fire burning in the salvage yard.

Thanks to the teamwork of structural and wild-land firefighters, the fire was knocked down quickly. No structures were lost in the fire.

Firefighters will be working on mopping up the fire for several days. Due to the variety of materials burned, hot spots are more prone to pop up. Firefighters are working to eliminate any chance of re-ignition of the fire.
