A failed bond leaves the Medford School District at a standstill
MEDFORD, Ore. —
Measure 15-175 proposed by the Medford School District has failed.
It was a $25 million bond, which would have funded CTE facilities at both North and South Medford High Schools, to better support programs for plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC training.
"We're just so limited by space, so currently the electrical and plumbing programs that we do have in place can only serve about 10-15 students per section because they're basically sheds," said Natalie Hurd, from the Medford School District.
Those programs will have to remain at their current size.
Carpentry and HVAC training courses will have to be put on hold.
