The City of Ashland Parks and Recreation Senior Program Advisory Committee held its second meeting Monday afternoon.

The new Senior Program Advisory Committee began last month with a goal to provide recommendations for Ashland's senior programming to both the Ashland Parks and Recreation Commission and the city council.

It's made up of a mix of citizen volunteers and a group of government employees.

On Monday, they discussed the senior program budget, meeting procedures, and possible future partners for the Ashland Senior Program.

Ashland Parks and Recreation director Micheal Black says the committee provides unique feedback to the city,

"It gives an opportunity to get some feedback from a group or focus group of people that we can use in the future," said Black.

The committee wants to start making recommendations to the city in 5 months or less.
