One person is dead after a crash between a car and a ATV in Rogue River.

Jackson County Sheriff's Office say, the incident happened on the 1000 block of west Evans Creek Rd on Thursday afternoon.

Deputies say, the ATV was heading northbound when it crossed the double yellow line and nearly collided with a jeep heading southbound.

JCSO told News10's Brian Schnee that the man was likely in his 40's to early 50's. He was found dead on scene.

The occupants of the car were able to walkaway from the crash unharmed.

Residents who live near Evans Creek Rd say its seen it's fair share of dangerous driving activity.

"This is a very popular place for things to happen because there's people over the hill all the time if you go up there and look it's a direct drop off, people go over the hill. People nail trees. On that corner right around the way here so it's a pretty nasty way," said Ron, Resident who lives near Evans Creek Rd. "It's expected to happen because people don't pay attending out here there's no speed bumps or stop signs out here so people just go fast and they don't think about it."

Residents in the area say, the man had been riding his off-road vehicle up and down the road for most of the day.

Deputies don't believe speed was a factor in the crash. The name of the deceased will not be released until the next of kin have been notified.
