CENTRAL POINT, Ore. — An elderly man drove his car into the front of Rogue Credit Union in Central Point around 11:15 a.m. Friday.
The credit union said the man had some sort of medical incident, and hit several parked cars before slamming into the doorway. He refused medical treatment.
No one was injured in the crash, but one witness said his wife was just feet away from getting hit.
"He had to have gone at least 25 to 30 miles an hour into that building," said witness Michael Summers. "Fortunately, it was structurally sound enough to where there was no collapse."
The Central Point branch has only been open since August of last year.
The inside of the credit union was closed following the accident. Drive-thru services remained available, and the branch will re-open Saturday for normal service hours.
