Oregon Department of Transportation is getting rid of the left hand turn lane on Fruitdale Drive to Williams Highway in Grants Pass.

ODOT went to city council a couple weeks ago for approval and it was granted.

They say this stretch of road causes a lot of accidents and is dangerous.

News10 spoke with shop owners along Fruitdale.

"I think there are other things they can try a speed reduction. They can try trimming back shrubs that keep you for being able to see up the road. That’s a very drastic change," said Sharon Rydell, Grants Pass Resident.

There were also people who said they are for the change and say it will be safer for drivers.
