ASHLAND, Ore. - Testing at Southern Oregon University for lead levels in the water has shown few problems in the last month.

There were a few instances in which water lead levels exceeded EPA standards and in those cases, the issue was localized to faucets or fountains that have immediately been replaced or scheduled for replacement.

“Our goal is to have all necessary water fixture replacements and repairs completed by the start of the new school year in September,” SOU Environmental Health, Safety and Risk Manager Russell Deen said.

As of August 2, water samples from more than 100 SOU buildings have been tested.
