The Rogue Retreat has opened cooling centers throughout the Medford area due to the extreme temperatures.

Cooling centers like the one at First Presbyterian Church in Medford will be open until Wednesday, July 18th.

A lunch will be provided around 2 pm, but snacks and water will be available for visitors throughout the day.

Volunteers will also assist those with other needs as visitors cool down.

"In that time from 11 to 7, we will be asking people if they need OHP or birth certificates, or what services that we can maybe point them in the right direction or help them with," said Kelly Shelter Case Manager, Brandie Barnes.

Visitors will enjoy light entertainment, such as movies and games during the time period.

The Kelly Shelter says they will add an additional week of cooling shelters depending on temperatures.

The following is a list of the shelters that will be opened. All shelters will be open from 12 p.m to 7 p.m:

  • 7/13 - First Presbyterian Church at 85 S Holly St in Medford
  • 7/14 - Methodist Church at 607 W Main St in Medford
  • 7/15 - Hawthorne Park at 501 E Main St in Medford
  • 7/16 & 7/17 - Set Free Christian Fellowship at 032 W Main St in Medford
