Update: Fatal crash closes Hwy 140 north of Klamath Falls for hours
The Oregon State Police are investigating a fatal crash on Highway 140 at mile marker 60, north of Klamath Falls on Thursday that shut both directions of travel down for two and a half hours.
According to the Klamath County Sheriff’s Dispatch, the call came in at 10:02 a.m. involving a semi-truck and a sedan.
An emergency medical response team cleared the area just after 11:30 a.m. There was one confirmed fatality as a result of the crash, according to OSP Troopers.
A trooper on scene tells News 10 the initial investigation reveals the driver of the sedan crossed the center line and struck the semi head-on.
The investigation is on-going.
The road has since re-opened.
