Body found matches description of missing Yreka man

YREKA, Cal. - The Tehama County Sheriff's Office has recovered a deceased male's body in the Sacramento River.

While the body has not been positively identified, the deceased male matches the description of a man that had been reported missing earlier this month in Siskiyou County.

News10 first reported on this on January 19.

Authorities have been looking for Trygve Larson, 79, who has was last seen in Yreka by his relatives on January 15.

According to TCSO authorities, the body not only matched the description of Mr. Larson, but there were some indicators found at the scene that led investigators to believe the body was the missing man. The body appeared to have been in the water for several days.

An autopsy is pending to determine the cause of death. According to TCSO authorities, there was no sign of foul play or criminal assault.
